Pipedrive is strong as a CRM, but it only gets truly powerful when it works together with the rest of your systems. If you hit the limits of standard integrations and Marketplace apps, a custom API integration is often the answer.
What an API integration makes possible
The Pipedrive API gives you access to all the data in your CRM: deals, contacts, notes, activities and products. You can create items automatically, pull information or trigger actions the moment something changes in a pipeline.
- Send data from your own database to Pipedrive automatically
- Have an external service react to a stage change in your sales pipeline
- Generate documents the moment a deal is won
- Let Pipedrive talk to your ERP or accounting software
An example from practice
A leasing company wanted to send financing applications to several banks automatically through Pipedrive. Before, that was done by hand: copy the data, send emails, fill in portals and set the status back in Pipedrive.
We built an integration that automates the whole process. As soon as a deal reaches the right stage, the system sends all relevant data to the connected banks. When a bank responds, with an approval, a rejection or a proposal, that information comes straight back into Pipedrive, including smart error handling.
Fewer errors, a lot of time saved and a faster customer process. The coordinator saves a day a week.
When is custom work the right choice?
Mostly when you use tools that are not in the Marketplace, or have workflows that need more logic than standard apps offer. Think of customer data that has to move back and forth between systems, or order processing without manual steps in between.
